Way to go Bears!

Way to go Gracelynn! Congratulations!👏

Today, Hardin Northern students in grades 4 through7 hit the slopes at Snow Trails Resort in Mansfield, Ohio for an exciting day of tubing! This well-deserved trip was a celebration of their dedication and achievement in reaching their academic goals for the 2023-2024 school year.
Congratulations to all our students! Keep up the great work, and let’s keep striving for success!

Last week, Mrs. Risner's class was learning about text structures from Ms. Obenour. On Friday, the students learned about chronological order. They had to write the steps in order for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. After the students completed the writing portion, Ms. Obenour read through their writings and made the PB&J as the students wrote. In the end, the students realized they may have forgotten some steps and that order is important when writing in chronological order. As you can see, things got a little messy!

Congratulations Elijah & Presley!👏

HN RoboBears advance to State!
29 First Tech Challenge teams showed up in Van Wert from all over Ohio on what could have been a nasty day. The threat of freezing rain didn't keep the RoboBears down, and the tournament ran as fast as possible to try to get everyone home safely. During qualification matches, there were a few near disasters, but the Bears stayed strong and excited to compete in what could be their last tournament of the season. They finished qualification matches in 11th place, but sadly did not advance to the playoff rounds. However, the RoboBears were excitedly awaiting the awards presentations after having a great judging session. At the end of the day, the HN RoboBears were awarded the 2nd place Inspire Award. This is the most prestigious award for an FTC team to win, and first place is an automatic bid to the state championship. On this day, 2nd place Inspire was enough to be one of the four teams to advance to the state tournament from Van Wert.
The team will now prepare for the FTC Ohio State Championship on March 8th at the Hobart Arena in Troy. Way to go Bears!
