It’s definitely April Fool’s Day at Hardin Northern! 🤪
There was a little confusion in the first grade today when a new substitute teacher showed up — Mrs. Huber filling in for Mrs. Hackworth! The students weren’t quite sure what was going on at first, and honestly some of them are still trying to figure it out! There have been lots of confused looks, plenty of laughs, and we're not even sure where Mrs. Hackworth is today.
Between the classroom switch-up and a few other tricks happening around the school, there have been plenty of laughs today. It’s safe to say the Polar Bears are enjoying a little April Fool’s fun! 🎉🐻❄️

“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Take the chance. Try the new thing. Raise your hand. Sign up. You never know what you’re capable of until you go for it. Let’s make this a week of taking positive risks, Bears!

Hunter Ewing!

It’s been a big day in kindergarten! Sloan and Lyla were able to write 100 sight words! Lennox has worked so hard this school year and has now read 1,000 sight words!! Your persistence has really paid off and we are all so proud of you. Great job to all 3 students!

Through this project, they focused on exploring real-world career opportunities and helping other students learn about life beyond school. River and Alex organized a trip to a local job fair held at the Kenton Fairgrounds Community Building, where they took a group of students to experience it firsthand.
While there, students had the opportunity to interact with around 20 different companies, each sharing information about their businesses, career paths, and current job openings. It was a great chance for our students to ask questions, make connections, and start thinking about their future goals.

Today’s throwback comes from the 1955 Northern Lites, featuring that year’s senior class and their senior play, Beauty and the Beef. What a fun glimpse into the past and the traditions that have helped shape Hardin Northern over the years!
It’s always great to look back and see the memories, creativity, and school spirit that have been part of our history for generations.

Hunter partnered with kindergarten classes to explore the importance of trees and the connections between nature and human life. Through engaging lessons and hands-on activities, kindergarten students learned how trees grow, change, and adapt over time, much like people do throughout their lives.
The project culminated in a special planting event, where Hunter and the kindergarten classes worked together to plant a tree in front of the school. The tree will serve as a living symbol of growth, reminding students of the lessons they learned and providing a lasting connection to their school experience.
As the kindergarteners continue their journey through school, they will be able to watch the tree grow alongside them, serving as a powerful representation of change, development, and the impact of hands-on learning.
Hunter’s project not only reinforced agricultural concepts but also created a memorable experience that will benefit students for years to come.
