We’re proud to highlight River Guinn and Alex Gatchell and their Passion Project as part of their Agricultural Education coursework!
Through this project, they focused on exploring real-world career opportunities and helping other students learn about life beyond school. River and Alex organized a trip to a local job fair held at the Kenton Fairgrounds Community Building, where they took a group of students to experience it firsthand.
While there, students had the opportunity to interact with around 20 different companies, each sharing information about their businesses, career paths, and current job openings. It was a great chance for our students to ask questions, make connections, and start thinking about their future goals.

Throwback Thursday!
Today’s throwback comes from the 1955 Northern Lites, featuring that year’s senior class and their senior play, Beauty and the Beef. What a fun glimpse into the past and the traditions that have helped shape Hardin Northern over the years!
It’s always great to look back and see the memories, creativity, and school spirit that have been part of our history for generations.

As part of his agricultural education coursework, student Hunter Ewing recently completed a meaningful Passion Project that brought learning to life for some of the school’s youngest students.
Hunter partnered with kindergarten classes to explore the importance of trees and the connections between nature and human life. Through engaging lessons and hands-on activities, kindergarten students learned how trees grow, change, and adapt over time, much like people do throughout their lives.
The project culminated in a special planting event, where Hunter and the kindergarten classes worked together to plant a tree in front of the school. The tree will serve as a living symbol of growth, reminding students of the lessons they learned and providing a lasting connection to their school experience.
As the kindergarteners continue their journey through school, they will be able to watch the tree grow alongside them, serving as a powerful representation of change, development, and the impact of hands-on learning.
Hunter’s project not only reinforced agricultural concepts but also created a memorable experience that will benefit students for years to come.

Piper can read 100 sight words! She and Baylor had a great competition going on for who would be first. Baylor just barely beat her, only by one day. Great job, Piper!
