First grade students researched bees and developed this question to drive their project:  How can we design a plan to bring awareness of the limited number of bees? They learned about bee life cycles, the different “jobs” of bees, parts of bees, bee habitats, and dangers to bees, then began working on a plan to teach others what they had learned.

Students played a game to learn about bees.  A fact was read, and then they held up worker, drone, or queen bee to indicate which one the fact was about:

We made crafts about bees!
