In this PBL, students learned about many different animals that live in the Arctic region and what they have that enables them to survive the frigid temperatures. They researched a new animal each day by reading and watching videos. Afterward, they listed facts that they learned about that animal. Finally, they wrote at least one sentence in their Arctic Animal books, and drew a picture to match. In the pictures shown, Izzy is measuring herself to the length of an Arctic Wolf, and the other students are painting a plate blue. The blue plate was turned into an “Arctic Habitat,” for a small figurine of the animal to live in the “snow.”¬† ¬†Students researched the walrus, polar bear, beluga whale, orca, snowy owl, harp seal, arctic fox, and more! Fun times in Kindergarten!
