2022 Hardin Northern Honor Court

Hardin Northern High School will hold its 2022 commencement on May 22 at 2 pm.  Eleven of the 26 graduating seniors have been selected as Honor Court graduates.  Each of these students has maintained a grade point average between 3.45 and 4.0 on a 4.0 scale and will receive an Honor Court medallion at the commencement.

Angela (AJ) Allen is the daughter of Heidi and Randy Allen. She currently has a 3.9 GPA and plans on attending Wright State University majoring in Psychology. In high school, AJ has participated in the musicals, murder mysteries, and History Brigade. She has received two TAB awards for her performance in the musicals, Elk’s Teen of the Month for April, and was inducted into the National Honor Society in her senior year. Outside of school, AJ has been active in her church’s youth group, Vacation Bible School, and helps run in-service and virtual A/V. In the past, she has been a part of a FIRST Tech Challenge team and various community theater shows. She currently works in childcare at Hardin County YMCA. AJ has received several scholarships from Wright State University, including the Green and Gold Scholarship and the Competitive Honors scholarship.

Jacob Henry Diller is the son of Andy and Sherry Diller. He currently has a 3.7 GPA and plans on attending Rhodes State University majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology. In high school, Jacob has participated in cross country, marching band, pep band, concert band, track and field, baseball, solo & ensemble, quiz bowl, FFA, musical, dinner theater, FCA, E-Sports, History Brigade, Book Club, Spirit Squad, and National Honor Society, and was an Elks Teen of the Month and the Hardin County Elks Volunteer of the Year. Jacob is currently an active member of his youth group and serves his community in as many ways as possible.

Jonah William Diller is the son of Andy and Sherry Diller of Dunkirk.  He currently has a 3.58 GPA and plans to attend a community college before transferring to another university.  In high school, Jonah has been an active member in all bands where he has done marching band for six years, concert band for six years, and pep band for five years.  He has also performed in the school musical for five years.  Athletically, he has completed four years of cross country and basketball, where he won the Cody Wilmoth Polar Bear Award. Jonah has been a member of the track team for three years and has received the century award.  He has lettered in all sports.  Jonah is also involved in the school’s Quiz Bowl Team, E-Sports Team, FCA, and he was inducted into the National Honor Society his junior year.  He received Elk’s Teen of the Month for December and is the Vice President of the senior class. He is also a four-year member and Vice President of the school’s History Brigade.  He currently holds a job working at Ada McDonald’s.

Brenna Flowers is the daughter of Eric and Doreen of Dunkirk. She currently has a 3.6 GPA and plans to attend the University of Findlay majoring in Animal Sciences with a Pre Vet concentration with minors in Biology and Chemistry.  In high school, she was involved in volleyball for 4 years, cheerleading for 4 years, softball for 4 years, Awakened Commotion Pop A Capella for 4 years, FFA for 4 years, FCA for 4 years, the Yearbook Staff her senior year, National Honors Society for 2 years, Junior Fairboard for 1 year and 4-H for 10 years. She was crowned the 2020 and 2021 Hardin County Pork Queen and the 2021 Hardin County Fair Queen. Brenna received the Elk’s Teen of the Month for December and has received several athletic and academic awards. She received Best Passer for the 2021 volleyball season, the Polar Bear Award, GRIT Award, MVP Cheerleader Award, and Best Jumps Award for cheerleading.  She was also awarded the Offensive Player of the Year for the 2021 softball season. She has received her Greenhand, Star-Greenhand, Chapter and State Degree’s in FFA, and has held the offices of Reporter, Secretary and President as well. She has received the University of Findlay Presidential Scholarship, the HN FFA Scholarship, HN FFA Alumni Scholarship, the Bonnie McBride Scholarship, the Jeb Bowman Scholarship, the Lewis and Ruth Rader Scholarship, and the Dave Lotz Memorial Scholarship.

 

Georgia Sue Grindell is the daughter of Brandy Cramer of Dunkirk and Ryan Grindell of Forest. She currently has a 3.9 GPA and plans to attend Rhodes State College of Lima majoring in human resources. In high school, Georgia has been involved in volleyball for three years, student council for two years, and was inducted into the National Honor Society her junior year. She has taken many college classes including American Sign Language, Algebra CCP, and Written Communications.  Georgia has received Elk’s Teen of the Month for April, several academic awards, and the Best Defensive Player award for volleyball.

 

Kennedy Revae Hall is the daughter of Michael and Patricia Hall. She currently has a 3.94 GPA and will be continuing her education at the University of Tampa majoring in criminology. In high school, Kennedy has been involved in volleyball for four years, cheerleading for three years, FCCLA for four years, student council for three years, student government for one year, received the Elks Teen of the Month for October, and was inducted in the National Honor Society her junior year. Kennedy has received 1st team NWCC and team MVP for volleyball. She is currently the president of FCCLA and student body president. She has received the UTampa Merit Scholarship.

 

Jadi Kae Herrod-Gonzalez is the daughter of Corey Herrod-Gonzalez and Heidi Crom. She currently has a 3.98 GPA and plans on attending Xavier University where she will be majoring in Finance. In high school, Jadi has been involved in Quiz Bowl for four years, track for two years, cheerleading and mascot for three years, History Brigade for two years, Student Council for one year, and Student Government for one year. Jadi has received Elks teen of the month for November, Elks Teen of the Year for Hardin Northern, a GRIT award for cheerleading, and is currently senior class president in Student Government. She has also received an Elks Female teen of the year scholarship along with a Xavier University Presidential Scholarship.

 

Layla Perkins is the daughter of Breann Mckean of Kenton, Corey Perkins of Mansfield, and stepdaughter to Josh Lamb. She currently has a 3.87 GPA. Her plan is to enter the workforce but is still undecided on the career path she would like to pursue. Throughout her high school career, she has participated in quiz bowl for four years, basketball for three years, student council for two years, and was inducted into the National Honor Society in 2021.

 

Nevin Edgar Robson is the son of Rickie and Terrena Robson. He currently has a 4.0 GPA and plans on attending Bluffton University where he will be studying sports management. In high school, Nevin participated in football and basketball for four years and baseball for one year. He was second team All-Ohio for football and selected All-Ohio for basketball as well. He also participated in AAU basketball, FFA for four years and FCA for two years. Nevin was inducted into the National Honor Society in his junior year. Nevin is the Senior Secretary for the school’s Student Government. He was awarded Elk’s Teen of the month for October, and he was also named the Elk’s Teen of the Year for Hardin County.

Tosha Shepherd is the daughter of Christine Conner and Daniel Conner. Tosha plans to go into an animal career work field. In high school, Tosha has been involved in basketball for three years, track for three years, cross country this year and History Brigade this year. Tosha has received awards such as A/B honor roll, the grit award, most improved in cross country, grit award in art, polar bear award in cross country, varsity letter in track and many more!

 

 

 

Madison Rae Wilch is the daughter of Jennifer Wilch of Dola and Mathew Wilch of Ada. She currently has a 3.8 GPA and is still undecided on what she is doing after high school but it will be in health care. She has participated in marching band for five years, concert band for two years, book club for four years, quiz bowl for six years. She is currently the president of the history brigade and has previously participated in four musicals. Madison received Elk’s Teen of the Month for January and she was inducted into the National Honor Society her Junior year. She is maintaining a job during her Senior year.
