Ms. Overs’ Plant and Animal Science class has been studying crops from around the world, specifically cereal and pulse crops. Students were able to learn about staple food crops in other countries such as barley, sorghum, peas and chickpeas. Along with studying the crops they had to learn and recognize which countries were top producers – a great combination of geography and agriculture! The unit concluded with presentations and a food day to get the class members more familiar with crops and foods popular outside of the Midwest US.
