Notice to our School Community:
The district was informed last evening, Thursday, September 3rd that one of our students had tested positive for the Coronavirus. The Hardin County Health Department was contacted immediately Thursday night and we began to identify students who may have been in close contact with the infected student. Close contact, as defined by the Hardin County Health Department, is less than 6 feet for approximately 15 minutes or more.
There were students identified by teachers and staff as potentially meeting this standard and those student names were provided to the Hardin County Health Department. The health department than undertook the task of contacting the students and parents to gather additional information.
Please keep in mind that our Hardin County Reopening Plan, approved by the Hardin County Health Department, is designed to minimize the risk of exposure to the Coronavirus, it is not designed to prevent exposure. A preliminary investigation of this situation shows the district has been following our approved protocols. However, the district will use this experience to review the procedures in place and reiterate to students the importance of following them.
