The Hardin Northern Polar Bear Legacy Golf Scramble to raise funds for the HN Scholarship Foundation took place on Saturday, July 11 at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course with 10 teams competing. The Team of Ron Johnson, Doug Ashba, Bill Ward, and Gene Wells took first place with a score of 17 under. Also with a score of 17 under, but losing on the tie breaker, was the team of Chris Kurt, Randy Preston, Mike Conley, and Bill Johnson. Thanks to all that came out and enjoyed the day and a special thanks to Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course for hosting us and the following hole sponsors: First Citizens National Bank, Dean Pees in memory of Lois and Wayne Pees, D & N Appliances, Rhodes State College, Hardin Allen Hawks AYBT basketball program, Pepple and Waggoner Law, and the HN Board of Education. Also, a special thank you to both the first and second place teams who graciously donated their winnings to the scholarship foundation. Recipients of the foundation scholarships from the Class of 2020 were Brayden Flowers, Hannah Flowers, Megan Miller, and Aby Russler (Norma Bilber Scholarship.). Next year’s outing has been set for July 10, 2021.
