The Hardin Northern Local School District has made the decision to suspend ALL spring school-related student events and activities beginning Friday, March 13. This suspension of activities includes practices, scrimmages, and games / meets for baseball, softball, and track, it will also include all other student activities such as FFA events, music and drama performances, any other student activity. The ban on student athletic activities is in compliance with the mandatory no contact period enacted by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
The school building will be closed to all students beginning Friday, March 13 at 4:00 p.m. and this will remain in effect until Monday, April 6 at 7:30 a.m. or until we get additional and updated information from the governor’s office or the Ohio Department of Education. Teachers and support staff will report on Monday, March 16. They will be available throughout that day to receive phone calls from students and parents regarding questions they may have about the educational opportunities being provided to our students. The Hardin Northern cafeteria will be open at 8:00 a.m. Monday morning to serve breakfast to any student as a grab and go. Students may also pick up a lunch at that time. Thanks to a partnership with Sheldon Gas Company and the Dunkirk Community Center a hot lunch will be available at the Dunkirk branch of the Library from 11:00 – 1:00.
