Hardin Northern FFA hosted their Chapter Banquet on Thursday, April 4th. The night
was filled with a catered meal, award recognitions, degree ceremonies, a live auction, and
scholarship presentations.
The meal was catered by Graze On from Waynesfield. While attendees enjoyed their
meals, the chapter recognized the various Career Development Event teams that competed
throughout the year: Rural Soils, Job Interview, General Livestock, Wildlife Management and
Floriculture.
The chapter then held the degree ceremonies, with awarding 12 Greenhand Degrees,
11 Chapter Degrees, and 2 Honorary Degrees. This year’s Honorary Degree recipients were
Andrew Cano and Brent and Jennie Good. Special awards presented included BBQ Pitmaster
to Daylin Pees, Star Greenhand to Dayja Slocum and Brenna Flowers, the Distinguished
Member Award to Rylie Bame, and Ag Credit’s 110% award to Cassidy Crooks and Rylie Bame.
To take a break in the award presentations, items donated by community members,
parents, and local businesses were auctioned off. The auction raised over $3,000 to help
support the FFA chapter’s expenses throughout the year.
The Scholarship presentation included the FFA Chapter Scholarship, FFA Alumni
Scholarship, Lewis Rader Scholarship, Lotz Family Scholarship, and the Alice Miniter
Scholarship presented on behalf of the Dunkirk Garden Club. Scholarship winners include: Rylie
Bame, Cassidy Crooks, Emma Miller, Ginnie Mills, Camryn Earlywine, Morgan Pauley and
Gabby Weaver.
The final highlight of the night included the announcement of the 2019-2020 Officer
Team: Lance Good (president), Renee Newton (vice president), Luke Wilson (treasurer), Mara
Ruhlen (secretary), Brenna Flowers (reporter), Aliya Obenour (sentinel) and Maddie Grappy
(student advisor).
The chapter would like to thank everyone in attendance for their support this year!
