HN FFA Annual Banquet

On April 19 the HN FFA held their annual banquet at Hardin Northern School. There were 207 members, parents, alumni members and guests present. Attendee got to enjoy a delicious meal catered by Graze On of Waynesfield.
After dinner, the banquet kicked off with all in attendance hearing from seniors, Shelby Alloway and Claira Wilson as they gave the keynote address. Following the address, 15 freshmen members were awarded their Greenhand Degree with Luke Wilson and Mara Ruhlen being awarded as the STAR Greenhand. Continuing on with degrees, 8 members received their chapter degree and the officer team presented two Honorary Degrees. Darlene Wilson and Denna Clem were regconizied as Honorary Degree recipients for the continued support to the chapter.
Member awards were also given; Owen Wetherill took home the BBQ PitMaster award, Rylie Bame was recognized for selling the most BBQ Fundraiser tickets as well as the Crooks’ siblings were recognized for selling the most fruit. The chapter took time to award the 4 CDE teams with pins and certificates. To round out award presentations, Dave Lotz, The FFA Alumni and The Dunkirk Garden Club presented scholarship awards to graduating seniors.
To finish the banquet retiring president, Cassidy Deckling reflected on her time as an FFA member as well as challenged the younger members to soak up the moments they have with the chapter and make the most of them. Finally, Ms. Overs, the Ag Advisor, announced the 2018-2019 FFA Officer Team. The new officer team is as followed; Rylie Bame – President, Ginnie Mills – Vice President, Luke Wilson – Treasurer, Cassidy Crooks – Secretary, Mara Ruhlen – Reporter, Zoey Curtis – Sentinel, and Madison Grappy – Student Advisor.
