On September 13th the Hardin Northern FFA held their annual soil invite near Ridgeway. There were around 450 students, from 20 different schools who participated in this event, including a team from Hardin Northern. Students who participated in the event judged the soil for its uses, slope, texture and various other features. The HN Rural Soil Judging team placed 16th out of 52 teams, with team high individual being Lance. Many Hardin Northern FFA members helped run this event by grading papers, running the registration desk, or monitoring pits. Many thanks to all the schools who came and the volunteers that helped make the event go smoothly.
Students from numerous schools use their skills to judge the soil pit. Students also had to take a general soil science test that added to their official score.
