This years Ohio State FFA Convention and Expo was held May 4-5 at the Ohio State Fairgrounds.The chapter took a tour of the Anthony Thomas Chocolate Factory to learn how chocolate was made, and more specifically their fine chocolates they sell in house before we attended the first general session of the 2017 convention. At the first and second general sessions of convention we had the great privilege of hearing Amberley Snyder and Matt Rush speak to the convention hall about never giving up and not passing up opportunities. On May 5th, chapter members explored the Expo center, and even played a friendly game of lawn Jenga as well as attending a workshop called Get Connected! At the workshop chapter members were able to meet National FFA Secretary, Victoria Harris. Ms. Harris presented the Get Connected! workshop where she discussed the importance of being nice to others and not judging people. During the fourth and fifth general sessions many awards were given as well as a performance of the State FFA band and chorus, where our own chapter members Mills, Ruhlen and Earlywine shared their musical talents. The convention experience was rounded out by State FFA President Mary Buhler give her retiring address and the installation of the new 2017-2018 Ohio FFA State Officers.
