Today, Mrs. Kieffer’s Tech Algebra III class took a “field trip” to the high school gym for a unique lesson on indirect measuring. Mrs. Kieffer’s class determined heights of various objects found in the gym without actually measuring them, but by using similar figures. Students used mirrors and meter sticks in this activity. This translated into a skill that can be used outside the classroom. Mrs. Kieffer said, “Being able to indirectly measure things is a valuable tool and I think the kids enjoyed this activity.”
