Mrs. Uitto, one out of Hardin Northern High School’s two English teachers, is leaving the volleyball program. Uitto has coached at HN for six years (three years of Junior High and three years of Varsity) and has dedicated a lot of time to the volleyball program throughout those years. Without her, the team would have been struggling to find a Varsity coach three years ago.
The HN volleyball team has done great things with Uitto as a coach. They have been second for two years and third this year in the NWCC Conference; they have gone a full year without losing a home game; and they have been the higher seed and/or gotten a bye in the first round of tournaments, which hasn’t happened in a very long time.
“It definitely was not an easy decision to stop coaching. I love the volleyball program and I’m grateful that I had a chance to be a part of it for the last several years. I know I will miss coaching, but I will also really appreciate spending more time with my growing family,” Uitto said. She had a baby girl recently, Veda May, so she is wanting to take time to be a part of Veda’s life and to watch her grow.
“I would like to thank Mrs. Uitto for being my volleyball coach for the last four years. It was a great journey, and I will truly miss her for my last and final year of high school volleyball,” Madison Robson, one of the four seniors of the upcoming season, said.
Thank you Coach Uitto for all you have done and good luck with raising baby Veda!
