The FFA conducted a Cans for Christmas food drive to help collect nonperishable food to be sent to the Dunkirk Food Pantry. Each homeroom was expected to donate as many cans and nonperishable food items as possible and place them in a box in their homeroom classrooms.

“It gets people more involved in the community as a whole,” James Rickenbacher said. Being able to do community service by providing food for needy families is one way the Dunkirk community is being brought together.

“Cans for Christmas is a good activity to be involved in because it shows that people care and it is also making people care more for those who are in need,” Selena McCoy said.

The winning high school class was Mrs. Souder, 7th grade girls homeroom with 102 items. The winning elementary school class was Ms. Weber, 1st grade, with 421 items. If you were able to bring cans, thank you!
