FCCLA will be collecting items at Hardin Northern for Operation Christmas Child from Monday, November 6th until Wednesday, November 15th. Mrs. Klir’s Child Development class will assemble all items into shoe boxes to donate. The elementary class with the most donated items will have cookies and hot chocolate treats in their class and the high school homeroom class to donate the most items will have cookies and hot chocolate treats in their homeroom. Below is a list of suggested items for designated grade levels.
What can go in a Shoebox?
Grades 7 – 12 Donation Suggestions:
*combs, hairbrush, toothbrush, dental floss or dental picks, washcloth, bar soap, bandages t-shirt, & hair clips or ties
Grades 6 – 3 Donation Suggestions:
*foam ball, finger puppet, slinky, etch a sketch, interactive toys, doll, small ball, stuffed animal, slinky, plastic tools, dinosaurs, & toy cars/trucks/boats,
Grades 2 – Pre K Donation Suggestions:
*pencils, small manual sharpener, colored pencils, pencil case, crayons, markers, pens, coloring books, notebooks, non-liquid glue, playdough and plastic cookie cutters, jump rope & stickers
Do Not Include
Candy; toothpaste; used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.
